Important Information Regarding the Project Process for Your Home Improvement
Project
The purpose of this page is to give you a better understanding of our
replacement procedures from start to finish. A similar letter will arrive
at your home once your project is scheduled and it will state the date range
for which your project will commence.
Scheduling Your Project
As soon as we receive your project
information, we will call you and send
you a letter confirming your project details, and the 30-day installation date
range for your project. Please call us if you have special dates that we will
need to work around. |
If your project will take more than one day,
we will make sure that your home remains sealed overnight. |
If we are doing multiple projects at your home,
it may be necessary to schedule each project separately, or upon
completion of another project. |
The day before we start working at your home, we will call
you to confirm work commencement. If we have an unexpected
opening in our schedule, we may call you that morning. |
For most repairs, it is not necessary for you to be home. |
We will make every effort to complete your project in a timely manner. Please
keep in mind that poor weather conditions may cause scheduling delays. |
Before Your Project Begins: Material Delivery
If we have ordered materials for your project, they may be delivered directly
to your home just before we begin work on your project. |
We will call you at least one day prior to the scheduled material delivery.
On the day of material delivery, please have your driveway clear, as we
may need access to your home and roof. |
If we will be completing a roofing project for your home, roofing materials
may need to be loaded directly onto your roof, unless specific conditions
do not permit. Your roof will be able to support the weight of these
weather-resistant materials. |
Siding materials, and any roofing materials that cannot be roof-loaded,
will be placed in your driveway, as close to the home as possible. If your
home has limited space, please contact us to discuss material placement. |
Before Your Project Begins: Homeowner Preparation
To minimize disruption in your home during your project, there are a few
simple things you can do. |
Before a roof replacement, cover all items in your attic, as debris may fall
through spaces in the wood, especially on plank roof decks. |
If you have a skylight, please cover the floor under the skylight to collect
dust and debris. |
Please secure your fragile objects, as normal roofing and siding
operations may cause structural vibrations in your home. |
Before any window replacement, please remove any window treatments
(shades, blinds, curtains), and any objects on window sills or ledges. Any
furniture near your windows also will need to be moved at least two feet
away from the window opening. |
During Your Project
At any time during your project, feel free to ask the crew foreman
questions, or contact our office directly at (703) 560-7663. |
During your project, our team will need access to electricity for our
equipment. If you do not have exterior outlets available, please let
us know so that we can make the proper arrangements. |
Noise is common during projects like yours. Vibrations are also normal,
and may cause nail pops or hairline cracks in drywall. We are not
responsible when these occur as part of the normal roofing, siding,
and wood replacement operations. |
Occasionally during removal of existing materials, we find that underlying
wood on your home needs replacement. New materials do not adhere
to rotted wood. If found, we will notify you of this condition, and the
additional costs of replacement. |
After Your Project is Complete
After we have completed your project, we will clean the exterior of your
property, and haul away all job-related debris. |
We will call you to confirm your satisfaction with the completed project
on your home. |
A Shiner Roofing, Siding, and Windows certified inspector will visit your
home to conduct a final inspection after all roof, siding, window and door
replacements. |
We will mail you a final invoice. Once we receive your final payment,
all warranty information will be mailed to you, along with a final receipt. |
