Solar Panels & Shingles
Solar panels and shingles perform the same basic
purpose - they capture the sunlight and convert it into
energy and ultimately into electricity. In both cases,
this task is accomplished through the use of solar or
photovoltaic (PV) cells. Unlike solar panels which are
placed and installed on top of a roof, solar shingles
are installed as part of the roofing system made to
blend almost seamlessly with regular asphalt shingles.
Once the solar panels and shingles are installed, a
trained roofer or an electrician has to wire the solar
units together to tie them in to your home's electrical
system.
Restorations Windows
Restorations Windows from Shiner have been carefully
engineered and constructed to offer the highest energy
efficiency ratings. With the exclusive Omega 12TM Glass
System homeowners can achieve higher performance levels
than with any other type of Low-E Glass window on the
market today. Omega 12TM reflects the heat from your
furnace back into your home in the wintertime, blocks
out the heat from the sun in the summertime, and filters
out damaging ultraviolet rays that cause fading of
furniture, carpet and wall coverings. Omega 12TM Glass
System provides the highest levels of year round comfort
and energy savings, making it the best choice for
replacement windows.

Anbrook Cedar Roofing
Cedar shakes have a long tradition as a roofing
material and are known for their natural quality and
aesthetic appeal. Although cedar contains high levels of
naturally occurring chemicals that help preserve the
wood, cedar shake roofs periodically must be maintained
with protective preservatives.
Metal Roofing & Gutters
Metal roofs reflect solar energy, which allow the
roof surface to remain cooler. This prevents the heat
from transferring into the building, which means less
work for the A/C units therefore lower energy bills.
Most metal roofing is composed of recycled materials
and is easily installed over an existing asphalt roof.
This reduces landfill waste in addition to saving
removal and disposal costs. Metal roofing also lasts
much longer than most non-metal roofing products
promoting a lifetime of environmentally-sound,
maintenance-free durability and beauty.
Metal gutters, increasingly copper, has become
popular due to their rich visual appeal and durability.
They stand up to the elements well and with proper
maintenance, metal gutters can last a lifetime.
Cedar Boards Siding
Cedar siding including cedar shake and cedar shingle
siding, comes in a variety of stained finishes and
textures. Made of natural cedar, the siding is usually
stained brown, gray or another earth tone that blends
well in a natural environment. Cedar is known for its
grain and rot resistance.
Shingle Vent II Ventilation
Shingle Vent II ridge vent installs on the peak of
the roof allowing exhaust ventilation all along the
roofline. This product proves that outstanding beauty
and performance can be combined. Design features include
an external baffle and internal weather filter for
optimum airflow and weather protection. Less than an
inch in height, this molded, high-impact copolymer
shingle-over ridge vent permits capping of the ridge
with shingles like the rest of the roof.
Vegetative Roofing
Green roofs are an interesting option for energy
efficient roofing ideas and products. This alternative
is like having a garden on your roof. The vegetation
works to cool the temperature of your roof so that it is
cooler than the air temperature in the summer. Roofing
that is not energy efficient can be up to 90 degrees
hotter than air temperature. With a cooler roof, your
home will remain cooler, decreasing your air
conditioning needs and lowering your energy bills.
Blown-In Attic Insulation
Insulation is what keeps your home’s inside
temperature protected from the outside climate. It keeps
your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
There are several products used for insulation with the
ENERGY STAR label which include fiber glass, rigid foam
board and spray foam. The quality of insulation is based
on an R-value, which is its ability to resist heat flow.
The higher the value, the better the insulation’s
quality.

TPO Roofing Systems
Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing membranes
provide exceptional resistance to ultraviolet sun
exposure. Unlike other thermoplastic roofing membranes,
the TPO polymer does not contain chlorine and no
chlorine-containing ingredients are added during sheet
production, making it an environmentally friendly
product.
Cool Roof Granules
Cool roof granules provide a valid choice for
creating an energy efficient roof. Cool roofs have high
thermal emitting properties, which refers to the
relative ease with which the roof radiates away the
absorbed heat. This means that a cool roof will not only
stay cooler by reflecting the sun’s energy rather than
absorbing it, but it will also quickly release the heat
that it does absorb.
Flintlastic® Roof Membrane
CertainTeed's Flintlastic product line of premium,
self-adhering membrane roofing systems are designed for
use over various types of substrates for both new
construction and re-roofing installations. The
Flintlastic product line is a part of CertainTeed's new
family of CoolStar ENERGY STAR approved products made to
reduce the amount of heat absorbed by roofing materials
in addition to improving the overall energy efficiency
of buildings, which can mean lower energy costs.
