FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA. April 24, 2007 – Shiner Roofing, Siding and Windows (ShinerRoofing.com) announced today its sponsorship of the 4th Annual Food for Others Golf Tournament, also known as the Tee Off to Fight Hunger Golf Tournament. This event is dedicated to raising money for Food for Others, Northern Virginia’s primary safety net for those in need of food and shelter.

“We are absolutely delighted to be associated with the Food for Others organization and their fund raising efforts,” said Kevin Shiner, president of Shiner Roofing, Siding and Windows. “The Northern Virginia community has welcomed and supported us since our founding in 1981. This sponsorship is one way that we can give back to our community”.

For many years, Shiner Roofing has been donating food during the holidays to the Food for Others program. The Golf Tournament was a natural extension of those efforts. This will be Shiner’s second year participating.

About The Food for Others Golf Tournament and Program

The 4th Annual Food for Others Golf Tournament will be held at the picturesque Bull Run Golf Club in Haymarket, Virginia on Monday, May 7, 2007. The tournament is a captain’s choice / best ball format, beginning at 1:30 PM. Participants will enjoy a half-day of golf, awards and contests, which promises to be an exciting event for everyone.

Since 1995, Food for Others has been Northern Virginia’s primary safety net for families in need of food and shelter. Food for Others is a non-profit organization with a mission to obtain and distribute free food to the hungry of Northern Virginia and support the food programs of other community-based organizations. In 2006, the organization gathered an incredible 1,847,775 pounds of food, which was then distributed to needy families in Northern Virginia - this year they hope to exceed that amount.
